CHESHIRE HOUSE NEEDS A NEW KITCHEN

Cheshire House receives funding from the Ministry of Health for staffing and some other basic needs, but it doesn’t receive funding for repairs or upgrades to our aging Streetsville home.

Donations are needed urgently to renovate and modernize our kitchen. Like any household, the kitchen is the heart of our home and supports daily living, nutrition, and social connections. It’s a vital space for residents and staff.

The kitchen at Cheshire House is outdated, no longer meets our needs, is inefficient and has safety issues that must be fixed this year. This project will include accessibility and fire suppression features and will cost over $40,000 to renovate.

Will you please help us fund this important project?

We’ll send you a charitable tax receipt for your support, and when the project is completed, we’ll share photos of the kitchen you helped us build.  Thank you for your support!

Who We Are

Peel Cheshire Homes Streetsville was established in 1975 as a home for adults living with acquired brain injuries. Peel Cheshire Homes is affiliated with the Cheshire movement, known worldwide for supporting individuals with disabilities with housing and care.

Peel Cheshire Homes Streetsville has a rich history within the Streetsville Community and has forged strong relationships that have helped the home and its occupants to thrive for 50 years.

Cheshire House is a 10-bed home that offers excellent service, supporting adults with disabilities while encouraging independence in all aspects of life. We have direct support staff onsite 24 hours a day. We are funded by the Ministry of Health and our residence receive rent subsidy through the Region of Peel. We are the proud recipients of CARF 3-year Accreditation.

Cheshire house has helped me become more independent. It helps me focus on my abilities.  I have met many different staff and residents since I moved in almost 12 and a half years ago. It is a care home that is one of a kind.  I just love living at Cheshire house. I would recommend Cheshire house Streetsville to anyone that wanted to live here or find out more about the organization.  I have to admit when I first moved into Cheshire House Streetsville, It took me sometime to get use to it. One of my favourite memories that was most recently was the staff awards night last year in October.
